Nike is bringing a bold, skate-specific twist to one of its most iconic silhouettes with the launch of the Nike SB Air Max 95 “Cactus Flower.” Fusing the rugged design of the original 1995 runner with functional SB modifications, this pair is built for more than just looks—it’s ready for impact, grip, and everyday wear.
At first glance, the shoe retains the unmistakable DNA of the Air Max 95. The layered suede and mesh upper comes dressed in a mix of Summit White, Photon Dust, and Cool Grey, creating a neutral base that lets the Cactus Flower pink accents on the lace loops, tongue logo, mini Swoosh, and visible Air units do all the talking. A gum rubber outsolegrounds the look while offering improved traction—perfect for grip tape and pavement alike.
But look closer, and you’ll spot key SB-specific upgrades:
Reinforced overlays and toe box for skate durability
Thickened tongue and heel padding for lockdown and protection
Cushioned insole for boardfeel and impact protection
Modified traction pattern for better grip and control
Subtle Nike SB branding appears on the sockliner, heel, and inside the Air unit—just enough to signal the crossover without taking away from the classic aesthetic. Whether you’re on the board or keeping it casual, this is one of the most versatile SB drops of the year.

When the Air Max 95 debuted in 1995, it changed the game. Designed by Sergio Lozano, the shoe took inspiration from human anatomy, with layered side panels resembling muscle fibers and a skeletal lacing system. It was a bold departure from earlier Air Max models—and it worked. The AM95 became a staple in everything from running and gym culture to hip hop and streetwear scenes.
Now, in 2025, Nike SB steps in to reimagine the silhouette for a new function: skateboarding. The “Cactus Flower” colorway marks one of the first official Nike SB x Air Max 95 crossovers, and it does more than just look the part. With real skate performance built in, it bridges two of Nike’s most influential design languages—runner heritage and SB innovation.
This release shows Nike’s ongoing commitment to retooling classics for modern use, while still honoring what made them iconic in the first place.

Hard to know how the sizing will be for this release due to the SB tweak, however, it’s probably safe to reference your normal Air Max 95 size when going for this model. For most, going with their normal Nike size may present challenges due to shoe’s narrow toe-box. For this reason, those that prefer a roomier fit or have wide feet may up to go up a half-size.
