Latest Pickup: Nike Air DT Proto 92 ‘Falcons’
Unboxing The Nike Air DT Proto 92: A Forgotten Classic Brought to Life
When it comes to 90s Nike nostalgia, few names hit as hard as Deion "Prime Time" Sanders. But before the world saw the first official Diamond Turf, there was the prototype—the mysterious and long-rumored Nike Air DT Proto 92. After decades in the vault, this historic silhouette has finally hit shelves, and I was lucky enough to secure a pair for the collection.
First Impressions
Straight out the box, the Nike Air DT Proto 92 exudes 90s cross-trainer energy. The upper combines crisp white leather with black mesh and striking University Red and Metallic Gold accents—colors that nod to Deion’s legendary time with the Atlanta Falcons. The bold NIKE branding across the midfoot strap is a bold statement and an immediate giveaway that this isn't your typical Diamond Turf retro.
On the tongue, instead of the usual logo treatment, we get the "Prime Time" branding, making this release feel even more special. It's a subtle but important nod to the man who inspired the shoe and the era it comes from.

Quality and Design Details
Nike kept things true to the prototype’s rumored specs. You get:
Premium tumbled leather overlays
Breathable mesh underlays
Rugged midfoot strap system
Classic turf-style outsole
Dual Air units for that old-school cushion setup
Fit and Sizing
I’d recommend going true to size for most people. The fit is secure thanks to the strap system, and the toe box isn’t overly snug. If you’ve worn previous Diamond Turf models, expect a similar feel here—though the build on this one may feel a little beefier due to the older design language.
