Initial Impressions:

Here are a few of my initial thoughts that I had during the unboxing. A more detailed review will be available after I spend more time with the shoe.

• The execution of the colorway is top-notch. They did a great job of doing a “Fourth of July” themed shoe. It’s done in a very understated way, that still has some punch and pop.

• As expected, the quality and construction of this “Made in the USA” shoe is what I’ve come to expect. Materials are plush and the stitching is clean.

• I really love the “simplified” upper on the 990v5 in comparison to the upper on the 990v4. That’s not to say that I don’t like the v4, but I just think the 990v5 looks cleaner.
