Air Jordan 9 Retro "Chile Red"

Red Hot Fall Release

The Air Jordan 9 is hitting retailers in a non-OG colorway that’s sure to turn a lot of heads this Fall 2021 season.

This iteration of MJs first “retirement shoe” features a “chile red” upper comprised of a unique mix of regular and patent leather that closely resembles the “Motorboat Jones” Air Jordan 9 colorway that released close to a decade prior.

Black accents appear on the lace eyelets, tongue and heel branding, and outsole to add more contrast and visual interest to the shoe. If you’re a lover of the color red, this is definitely the shoe for you.

The Air Jordan 9

Sneaker History

The Air Jordan 9 was originally released back in 1993 and was another signature shoe designed by world-renowned sneaker designer, Tinker Hatfield. At the time of its release, Michael Jordan had retired from the NBA for the first time, but his sneaker collection continued to shine with the AJ9.

The sneaker in many ways served as a canvas to commemorate Jordan’s basketball legacy up to that point and featured artistically displayed Jordan’s many basketball accomplishments on the midsole. Although Michael Jordan never wore the Jordan 9 as a Chicago Bull, it is still beloved by many sneaker and MJ enthusiast.
