Virgil’s Design Legacy Continues With Nike’s Air Force 1 Mid!
After Virgil Abloh's untimely passing, many sneakerheads were left wondering what would come of the partnership between his Off-White brand and Nike. Fortunately, with his family's consent, the design duo will look to continue the designer's creative legacy in 2022 and beyond by releasing more iterations.
Design, Materials, and Color
After images of an Off White x Nike Air Force 1, Mid leaked months ago, official images of the black iteration have finally surfaced less than a week ahead of the presumed release date. In customary fashion, the colorway is a makeover through Off-White's signature style that includes unique details such as exposed laces, translucent Swooshes, and bold hits of color used throughout the shoe.
Additionally, the shoes come packaged in a brick-like box with co-branded artwork. Graffiti-style "AIR" branding on the tongues, heels, pull tabs, a translucent sole with a swirl pattern, and a wavy midsole are also included.
Release Date and Pricing
The 2022 Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid is scheduled to drop on June 23, 2022, for $185 for adult pairs. Although not confirmed, we suspect pairs will be made available via the Nike SNKRS app and possibly through Virgil’s own website.
