The Shoe
The Air Jordan 5 is a retro basketball shoe from Jordan brand that originally release back in 1990 and will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of its original debut here in 2020.
As a tribute to the Jordan 5’s illustrious history, Jordan Brand has plans to release a variety of OG and commemorative colorways throughout 2020. This includes this Air Jordan 5 Retro “Alternate Grape”.
As the name suggests, the shoe is a remix of the Jordan 5 “Grape” colorway in which the 2020 shoe inverts the upper and midsole colors of the original to create a eye-catching design, in my opinion.
Early photos also suggest that the shoe will have a suede or nubuck upper that is also a departure from the OGs original design blueprint.
