Here are a few of my initial thoughts after unboxing this New Balance 990v5 “Classic Grey”. A full written review of this shoe will be posted after I’ve had more time to analyze the shoe.
This is my third pair of 990vs and the pair that planning to get the most wear out of. Everything about this shoes says “wear me”.
As expected, the quality of the materials and the construction of this shoe are creme-de-la-creme and the gold standard of athletic footwear in my opinion. The suede and mesh not only look and feel good, but are also functional and provide a nice breathable ride.
Straight out of the box, these have got to be the most comfortable shoe that I’ve ever owned. Most other shoes require a few wears to break-in, however, these are good to go immediately.
When it comes to sizing, the 990v5 runs a little long compared to other sneakers, so I suggest most people go down a half-size for a more secure fit.
