The Materials:

Air Jordan 5 “Anthracite” | $190 | Jan. 6, 2021

When it comes this shoe’s materials, Jordan brand has gotten creative with the selection and placement of what’s used on this Jordan 5.

  • Suede Leather
    Toe-cap and Heel

  • Synthetic Textiles
    Upper Tongue, Side-Panels, & Toe-Box

  • Platstic/Reflective 3M
    Lower Tongue & Side-panel Netting

Easily one of the most unique renditions of the Air Jordan 5 to date, it will be interesting to see the exact look these materials create together in-hand.

The makeup mixes suede leather, textiles and translucence in new ways while maintaining OG details like hallmark ‘23’ branding on the heel and a splatter finish on the midsole.

The SHOE’S Upper

As the name suggests, this Air Jordan 5 features a “Black and Anthracite” upper with accents of “Wolf Grey/Clear” appearing on the side panel, tongue/lacing systems and contrast stitching that is found throughout.

The “Black” textile material used on the tongue, side-panel and toe area give the shoe a unique two-tone look when paired with the “Anthracite” suede which appears on the toe-cap and heel portion of the shoe.

Finishing off the shoe’s designed, is the embroidered “23” embellishment that appears on the lateral side of the heel.

The SHOE’S Midsole

The all-black midsole helps contribute to this shoe’s stealthy vibes and is the perfect backdrop for the infamous “shark teeth” design element of the shoe that comes in silver with black/anthracite speckles.

The milky white portions of the shoe’s outsole are made visible on some areas of the midsole and round out this shoe’s design.

Release Info:

Air Jordan 5 “Anthracite” | $190 | Jan. 6, 2021

Not much is known regarding the amount of pairs that will be released, but demand on this shoe isn’t too terribly high which should make this a relatively easy cop for seasoned sneaker shoppers.

Since just about every Jordan release is selling out these days, this is still not a sneaker to sleep on. If you want a pair for personal or resell purposes, you’ll need to put in the proper footwork of entering raffles and contacting your local retailers.

How Will They Release?

Brick-n-mortar retailers like Footlocker, Footaction, Champs, will distribute the shoes in-store via their app-raffles. Entries can be submitted up until Friday, February 6th at 3:15pm CST.

Stores like Finishline, Jimmy Jazz, & Shoe Palace may conduct in-store raffles depending on the location, but you’d have to check with your local retailer for exact details.

Copping Online

Copping online has become increasingly more difficult due to the use of sneaker bots, but not impossible for less-hyped releases like the “Anthracite” 5s.

Having said that, Nike SNKRS may prove to be the best option for those looking to cop manually, with sites like Finishline and Footlocker being the other good alternatives, as well.

You can expect the shoes to drop online at 9am CST on all US sites scheduled to release the shoe, but try getting ready at least 10 minutes early to get in any website queues.

If you’re looking to get a pair of these, it shouldn’t be impossible to cop, but don’t sleep. Everything is selling out these days and these should follow suit.
