About The New Balance 997H

The New Balance 997H is one of the newer retro-inspired silhouettes in the brand’s footwear lineup, but has quickly become a hot seller over the past few years.

Marketed as an athleisure shoe, the 997H features an upper patterned after the legendary New Balance 997 heritage model and also carries with it a lightweight ENCAP midsole that adds all-day comfort.

With sleek styling, comfort, and a reasonable price tag, this shoe is an exceptional buying option for frugal shoppers who don’t want to sacrifice on style while spending less on sneakers.

The 997H Spring Hike men’s sneaker is a heritage-inspired kick that fuses superior comfort with outdoorsy style. This special-edition drop features premium woodgrain-inspired details, giving an earthy touch for use indoors and out.

The New Releases

New Balance is clearly putting its best foot forward in 2020 with the release of its newest 997H colorways. Each iteration incorporates premium looking materials and colors not often found on a shoe at this price-point.

More On The Materials

The first things that caught my eye on these sneakers were the materials used throughout. Eye-catching cuts of suede, canvas, and synthetic materials makeup the shoe’s upper, while the latter comes fashioned in a texture made to resemble wood.

In keeping with the “outdoorsy” theme that inspired this shoe’s design, special laces and faux-wooden lace embellishments are special touches that complete the look of each colorway.

Coming in at just under $90 bucks, I’m honestly surprised that New Balance didn’t opt to increase the price of these “special edition” sneakers, but I’m glad they didn’t, because these are seemingly an incredible value.

More On The Colors

New Balance does an exquisite job when it comes to color selection and color-blocking for just about all of its sneakers and these two are no different.

Both versions feature rich colors that compliment each other without looking too cheesy or obnoxious. The hint of color added to the midsole is also a nice welcomed touch reminiscent of the New Balance 998 and does a good job of completing the shoe’s overall look.

At this point, it’s hard to determine which shoe looks better than the other, as both are such marvelous works of art to behold. lol

what about Availability?

According to NewBalance.com, these are “special edition” sneakers, however, having this title doesn’t necessarily mean that these shoe are “limited”.

When it comes to securing a pair, I always recommend that you err on the side of caution and cop a pair or two while you have a chance to avoid missing out.

All-in-all, these are great looking shoes at a great price-point so expect these to be on plenty of folks’ radar.
